Litorina’s portfolio company LBC acquires Transportsektionen

LBC, which is the leading logistics hub between manufacturers and retailers in the Nordic furniture industry, will through the acquisition further strengthen its position within Nordic furniture logistics. At the same time the group will broaden its offering to new product categories. The LBC group, including its new subsidiary Transportsektionen, will turn over more than SEK 700 million with good profitability.

Transportsektionen in Bjärnum, with annual sales of approximately SEK 120 million, is a logistics company primarily offering third party logistics services linked to warehousing and distribution. Customers are active within furniture, food products and other areas. LBC and Transportsektionen have the ambition to further refine their solutions within warehousing, order picking, co-loading and distribution. LBC foresees large synergies within customer service in the southern part of Sweden where increased activity is planned within primarily imports to Sweden. The LBC group will through the acquisition gain access to a new logistics hub in Bjärnum offering 75 000 m2, with close proximity to Helsingborg, Malmö and Kristianstad.

– Transportsektionen and the LBC group have been cooperating for more than 20 years and LBC is a natural owner of Transportsektionen. Through the acquisition we see obvious opportunities to consolidate the companies activities within furniture logistics to further develop the offering to our customer, says Jörgen Ekberg, Partner at Litorina Capital Advisors. The CEO of Transportsektion Mats Flinck has a lot of experience of third party logistics within other product categories than furniture. This will open up new and exciting growth opportunities for the whole LBC group.

Transportsektionen will continue to develop with the same focus as before, but also leverage opportunities for further growth and improved customer service offered by the combination with LBC. Mats Flinck, who has successfully built the company, will continue as CEO and work closely with Hans Hjelmström, the CEO of the LBC group.
